The goal was to assess the influence of spraying related factors on efficacies of antifungal treatments. The features of the sprayer enabled each spraying method to be replicated many times across the vine block. In both experiments, the effect of spraying methods on powdery mildew control could be distinguished and interpreted because of the spatial analysis of disease pressure within the vine block. The findings are a contribution to new methodologies for studying how to apply biological (biocontrol) plant protection products. Keywords: checkerboard design, plant protection, precision viticulture, spatial variation
